And it is social media gives real people that infinite power to tell their stories and viewpoints on events, sometimes saddening and joyful at times.

1. Earthquake in Nepal

2. Cecil The Lion
Cecil the lion lived in Zimbabwe. The lion was a major attraction at the park and was being studied and tracked by the University of Oxford as part of a larger study. A recreational hunter shot and killed Cecil on July 1, 2015, drawing the global media attention.
3. Migrant Crisis
Europe’s refugee crisis arose through the rising number of refugees and migrants coming to Europe from war-torn Syria.
4. Queen Elizabeth II is world’s oldest monarch
The Queen, who is 89, became the longest reigning monarch in the British history, to date, she was just behind her great-great grandmother Queen Victoria, whose record she has surpassed in September 2015 year.
5. Paris Attacks
On Friday, November 13, a theatre, stadium, restaurant and cafe were attacked by terrorists. 24 hours following the terror attacks more than 70 million people took to Instagram to share their support and prayers for the French capital, according to the social network. #PrayForParis is one of many hashtags, including #parisjetaime and #jesuisparis, that became popular worldwide as a means of supporting the victims of Paris.
