Have you ever wondered how you will find the image that is pretty similar to the one you’ve seen on your-source-of-inspiration’s newsletter? We got it, bro! Starting with June, the Artificial Intelligence is with you! Let us make the introductions.
Meet AI! You can imagine her like one of those super human robots with whom you can fall in love in the real sense of the word, like the one in Her movie. She’s our Artificial Intelligence, but she’s not into love affairs that much as she likes to stare at all the photos from across the social media platforms, find the best options for your enquiry and make you wish to try some more keywords related to the future projects. But do you know why the AI is so essential these days? Because it helps you find photos made by humans. With souls! Not those sterile big white fake smiley faces.
When working on a brief, you know very well that if you go to Google and type in some keywords for what you imagine to be the best to keep company with the rest of the project, you’ll get those boring photo stock content no one will ever, ever have a good feeling about. There is a chance you will find something, but it will cost you more than you’d like to pay, especially if your work is designed for the web. In any case, we provide high-resolution photography that can assure quality in print, except those from Instagram.
Then Google takes you through Flickr albums and you get lost on the pretty pics there, but you can’t have them. Then you remember those perfect pictures on Instagram, but it’s a forbidden land. And here’s the point you should remember about Her, the AI, and you’ll ask her a favour to help you sort out what the best picture is on the Internet Land resembling almost every part of the photo you can’t use for different reasons. But how the heck will you be able to possess those Insta/Flickr/Facebook photos? Lobster is AI’s little helper that will deal with it for you!
But enough with the modern princess tales. Let’s get to the news!
Lobster is launching image recognition for its premium subscribers to make the search for social media content easier even if it’s not properly and consistently tagged (right, we are all on the go, always).
Already today, you can search for colours and faces, so you can find ‘red apple’, ‘black dog’ or ‘white beach’ across Instagram, Facebook, Flickr, Google Images and Vk. Important for brand campaigns and agencies in terms of model releases, you can also filter images by the ‘face factor’ – does it have people in the frame and how many?
As of June, our subscribers will get access to ‘look alike’ image search, uploading an image be it a stock photo, or link, or a Lobster photo, – and getting similar results. It’s really useful when you want to find something matching the brief but not quite what competitors download from common photo banks.
We believe that AI technology and the collaboration with other tech startups in the industry will help our customers find that right image or video for their work, and bring a new level of searchability and structure to the rather hectic world of, very authentic, social media content. First on the planet, need to confirm in the Universe, image recognition, crowdsourcing and AI based search for images from real people, we are looking forward to getting your feedback. Our free trial is still available & the full image recognition subscriptions are there to purchase with a ‘no obligations cancellation’ policy.
