There are currently over 50 million individuals and their care partners living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia-related illness but awareness and support remain low.
In name of this, we partnered with Alzheimer’s Disease International and Leo Burnett to bring #memorydonation to Lobster.
Through #memorydonation, you can donate photos and videos as memories which, when licensed, help to generate the crucial funds needed to make a change for this significant cause. But how exactly does it work?
Read our FAQs to better understand how you can participate in this campaign for free and help us make a change.
Where does the money come from?
As a contributor on Lobster, you earn 75% on every sale you make.
By ‘donating’ your photos and videos during #memorydonation you are actually nominating to donating the 75% you would ordinarily earn when your content is licensed through Lobster. We support you by donating our 25% as well so that 100% of every sale is directly shared with Alzheimer’s Associations around the world.
Can I earn normally again on Lobster?
You can stop donating at any point to return to earning normally with Lobster, or you can choose to only donate a selection of images or videos to allow you to earn and donate simultaneously.
You can do this by adjusting your photos in My Content or by simply adding #memorydonation to the content you’d like to donate
Can I donate everything on Lobster?
We have created a simple slide bar on your My Content homepage where you can click to donate any content you currently have and help us reach our goal of 100,000 donations by October 31st.
The bar on your profile looks like this:
How can I let people know that I’ve donated?
You can spread the word about our #memorydonation campaign and your participation by using the #memorydonation hashtag on social media and sharing this link: lobster.media/memory
Who can donate?
We want to make a big impact and we can only do that with your help. You can be a social media user, a budding photographer, videographer or even a professional.
